OOTD and nite out with the gals
Nite out with the gals @ Picadilly, they have the best Kilkenny beer!!!
We went to Magna Carta western restaurant for new year dinner, but totally forgot to take picture, gahh...we had Chef salmon, Ceasar salad, Moscow chicken and mushroom soup.
Mushroom soup was memorable, it has a lot of mushroom, less creamy than i thought, portion is big.
Chef Salmon - Their popular mango salad is no longer available, the Chef Salmon was okay...grilled salmon with some kind of sweet curry-like sauce, nothing too excited about it.
Ceasar salad - was creamy and the romaine lettuce is crispy and fresh... but expensive. RM15 for a plate of salad, too much.
Chicken moscow - i didn't taste it, it was like some kind of fried chicken. comes with fries and salad.
The bill comes out around RM162. Kinda expensive. They have few new items, but their portion shrinked and the food is not as good as it use to. What a let down!

Some breakfast kuih and bun
Some kind of crepe-like kuih...wrapped with palm sugar flavored coconut flakes. Yummerrrrrr!!! I've been craving it for a long time so i had to go and get it, it was in the middle of the nite, after i was driving home from the nite out with the gals so, i was around the area and all that certain...this kuih just calling my name...so i stopped by the Petanak market, where they started selling kuih at very late at nite until the early morning...If you around that area check that out, it was at the 2nd floor of the market, they have all kinds of kuih available which is very fresh and yummy. You get likes a whole bag for RM4 with 10 pieces in it. Not bad ehhh...it usually 50 or 60 cents a pieces. This place also famous of local foods, it opens really late...i love their Kueh Chap and Sugar cane after a bar nite out. I think one of the stall that served really cheap western food is there too. Many of the stalls open late so definitely check this place out of if you want something cheap and decent to fill your tummy!!!
Sausage bun from the Bakery inside Boulevard supermarket
Yam steamed cake for my dad since he is a Diabetic. Whenever i brought home some sweet stuffs, i always have to look for savory food to bring home to my dad so that i don't feel bad. Cos i always satisfy my mom's sweet tooth and forgetting about my dad, but i have been making a habit now to buy both sweet and savory snacks... Huhu^ ^ i am such a thoughtful daughter ehh...not quite...but i m trying....yay?

Open House's foods
We had open house at my place on Christmas eve for my dad's 61st birthday. Food catered from Country Court 2 1/2 mile, Rock road. They gave us free cheesecake for the order. Minimum to cater is 30 pax. Price per pax started from RM16. My aunt also make her awesome longitive pao or Show Tao Pao with lotus paste, the highlight of the night!!! Gone in minute, everyone wants it, so yummylicious! We had fried Tom Yam rice, fried mee, Tofu with sauces, Roasted chicken, roasted duck and Meat rolls, (Ngo Hiang Bak) and Watermelon slices. Tom Yang fried rice and Meat roll were ymmmy though, the rest just standard-ly good.

Cranberry Orange oatmeal muffins
Recipe from Allrecipes.com
Ingredients
* 1 cup rolled oats
* 1/2 cup orange juice
* 1/2 cup boiling water
* 1/2 cup butter
* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/3 cup white sugar
* 2 eggs, lightly beaten
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup raisins (optional)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease or paper-line muffin pans.
2. In a small bowl soak oats in orange juice and water for 15 minutes.
3. In a large bowl cream together butter or margarine and sugars. Beat in eggs and oat mixture.
4. In a separate bowl, blend flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and nutmeg. Stir into batter. Stir in vanilla and raisins. Spoon batter into prepared muffin pans, filling 2/3 full.
5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
I altered it to my version, less sugar, less butter, it turned out just fine, a little on the sweet side because i forget the orange juice i used has sugar in it. Reduced 1 Tbsp less of sugar should turn out perfect. I only have quick oats so you can skip soaking them in the boiling water since they cook pretty quick. I use the boiling water to soak the dried cranberries instead. Make 12 medium sized muffins.
My version:
1 cup flour
2/3 cup quick oats
2/3 cup dries cranberry (Or any other dried fruits like raisin or red date)
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup boiling water
1 egg
1 Tbsp orange zest
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp brown sugar or white sugar ( Reduced from 4 Tbsp because it was too sweet!)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp baking soda
1/3 tsp salt
